Though this was just a one-yard touchdown run, it took a team effort for rookie Patriots quarterback Joe Milton III to get free in space and over the line for the score. With the whole line blocking to the right and the tight end coming back across the formation to hit the free rusher with a wham block, the Bills defense all thought this play was designed for running back Antonio Gibson to try to power through the right side. Milton read the defense's reaction like a book, however, pulling the ball back and scooting to the left side, finding no one in his way as he crossed the goal line for his first NFL touchdown before back-flipping in celebration. Milton and the Patriots went on to beat their AFC East rivals in this one, 23-16, on Jan. 5, 2025.
